In another recent thread about author platforms, I mentioned being cautious of going down lots of "rabbit trails" that may initially look useful, but take time away from what's actually needed. I may be giving the illusion that I am a lot more organized than I am, so let's straighten that out. It would be a bit like the accountability thing, and it would get me moving a bit faster, and you'd see the results sooner. If you really want to see something and might possibly consider it, you are fully welcome to nudge me every week or so on this. I'll make sure to let you know when I get things started. I do plan to put some animations on YouTube, and sooner than later. (That's some real commitment over us slackers, just trying to teach ourselves.) It's going well, i B would you ever be up to sharing any of your storyboards/animation? I remember that some time back, you and taking some animation courses. (If you know anything about that, please share!!!!) This one had something like 42 million views!!! I guess you can build up a lot over 7 years, (though that's 6 million views/yr, or over 16K views/day.) but it shows the real drawing power that a nicely done animation can have.īTW. I'd love to see what else they might have come up with in all the time since. Looks like they did the work, like 7 years ago, and then stopped posting, which is too bad. Other motion comes by building a 3D model of the pony, shading it to look 2D in the camera view, and then moving the camera around the 3D model. They get some very nice motion effects by just moving beautifully drawn 2D still artwork in different layers. Not sure if you've looked over the YouTube channel where this item is located, but there are some interesting examples of some of the kind of work that went into the making of this piece.
