There's always a bit of flexibility in how many people can fit round a table and what size dining table can fit into a room. So here's a few dining room sizes with different layouts. Design elements like windows and fireplaces also have an impact on how the room is centered. For example, a square room that is 8 x 8 feet has a 1:1 ratio, and a rectangular room that is 16 x 8 has a ratio of 1:2. Other things that have an impact on dining room size and layout are circulation - the location of the door can have an impact on where your dining room table will fit in the room.
